I know very little about cars. I put gas in mine, sometimes. That's about it.
As a member of My Blog Spark, I was recently sent some information about car maintenance.
Here's an excerpt of the info they sent me:
Did you know that in the United States the average age of cars and light trucks on the roads today has reached a record high of 9.4 years? That means it´s more important than ever to take proper care of your vehicle. With the informative Web site www.MotorOilMatters.org (created by the maker of industry-leading brands Pennzoil and Quaker State) you can easily locate key information about how quality motor oils can help prolong your engine´s life and improve overall efficiency, as well as help answer other questions you may have about motor oil. In addition, the site offers a fun, educational game for you to play called "M.O.M. Knows Best" where you can put your motor mind to the test with an interactive quiz.
I played the (fairly easy) game, and shockingly, got all seven questions correct. I also read around, and learned a few things about motor oil, which I previously had NO knowledge of.
My Blog Spark also sent me a $35 gift card to go get my oil changed at Jiffy Lube. This is one of those things I usually defer to my husband, but it was very easy. The whole process took around 30 minutes, and the staff was very helpful. (By the way, they even had coffee available for frazzled moms, and Highlights magazines for the kiddos.) In addition to changing the oil, they checked my tire pressure, various other fluids and what not (told you, I know nothing,) and even vacuumed for me. They recommended several other services for our aging car. (Thirteen years old, and counting.) My out of pocket expense (after the gift card,) was five or six bucks.
We were actually so satisfied with our experience that we went back the following week to have them finish the recommended services.
The folks at My Blog Spark are also sponsoring a giveaway here. One lucky winner will receive a $35 gift card to Jiffy Lube. Cool, huh?
For the first, mandatory entry, go check out www.motoroilmatters.org, and come back here with a comment about something you learned, or how you did on the game.
