Baby Prodigy Review and Giveaway

I was recently sent 3 DVDs by the Baby Prodigy company to review with 2 year old baby V.

The first two videos, Baby's First Words, and 30 Minutes to a Quiet Baby were aimed at infants and young toddlers. Now I know there are folks who'll say that infants shouldn't be watching television, and to an extent, I'd agree. I can't recommend plopping the baby down to watch soap operas or daytime talk shows. :)
On the other hand, if you're looking for something fun to do with your baby or even occasionally would like to sneak off and take a quick shower, I think these videos are a good choice.

They combine music, toys, puppets, and occasional narration in about a 30 minute long format.I was a little surprised that both kids, even my five year old sat through these, and enjoyed them. I was worried that the kids might think they were babyish, but they were fascinated by the cool looking toys and music. The format for these videos was similar to other "baby videos," however I liked them better than others I've seen, and my kids appeared to as well.

The third movie was called Baby Preschool, and I think it was all of our favorites. The main characters were Dottie and Dookie the Ducks. (The ducks also make cameos through out the other videos.) The format for this video was more of a Sesame Street like format, with little skits and songs. The topics covered in this video were things like shapes, colors, find which object doesn't belong, etc. The kids were highly entertained. V spent the whole time narrating the show, and 5 year old L even asked for it again a few days later, saying he wanted to see the "funny ducks" again.
I'll be keeping these DVDs in the rotation, especially as we start back to school, and I occasionally need a way to keep V entertained while L and I get a few minutes of quiet time.
The kids and I give them a thumbs up.
The DVDs retail for $12.99, and are available at Toys R Us. To find out more about the DVDs or Baby Prodigy, you can check them out at www.babyprodigy.com, find them on Facebook, or follow them on Twitter.
