My son, who is an avid builder was very excited to put together the Mega Bloks Ultimate Action Dragon Destroyer with his dad before the party.
L and his sister spent the morning playing with it while I got the house ready for the party.
And made a little coloring station.
When the guests arrived, they snacked, and built, and played, and colored, and snacked some more.
In addition to the small kits in the $7 to $12 range that each child received, I was able to raffle a Mega Bloks Deluxe Dual-Blast Dragon Hunter off as a door prize to a very happy brother and sister at the end of the party.
The kids had fun. As expected, the boys were a little more excited than the girls about the dragons and aircraft, but both genders did enjoy them. The Mega Bloks were very similar to Legos, and my son (the Lego fanatic,) was very impressed. The blocks fit together nicely and easily. Most of the sets said they were suitable for ages 6 and up. While I found this to be true, the kids did require assistance with the initial assembly. The large set, particularly, took my husband a son a fair amount of time to assemble together. (Not a bad thing, by the way. I love seeing my boys playing together...)
Altogether, if your kiddo likes building, and fantasy type characters and stories, these toys will likely be well received.
Disclosure: I was provided with a number of Mega Bloks products to keep, and to share with my party guests. NO other compensation was provided, and the opinions expressed represent my own experiences.
