It's October. You can't walk in a store, turn on the tv, or listen to the radio without seeing and hearing about pink things. This year, I'm especially aware of the pink ribbons all around.
Awareness is important. If we're really going make progress in the treatment and cure for breast cancer though, there's another piece of the puzzle. Funding.
The folks at Freschetta have been putting their money where there pink ribbons are. During the month of October, specially marked packages of Freschetta pizzas and pizza crusts contain a code, which you can redeem online for a $1 donation to the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, (for a total of up to $50,000.) Check out the Freschetta Proud To Support Pink site for more info on this program. (You can also follow Freschetta on Twitter, or like them on FB to keep up with the company's latest news.)
There are still a few days left this month. Go pick up a yummy Freschetta pizza, take a night off from cooking, and don't forget to enter your code!
We tried the Naturally Rising 4-Cheese Medley Pizza, and it was seriously good, as good as delivery, and way more convenient.
Freschetta has offered to host a giveaway here.
One winner will receive a coupon to try a free Freschetta pizza, (12 oz or larger,) and 2 pairs of Freschetta Proud To Support Pink earphones. (A pair to keep, and a pair to share with a friend. They're super cute.)
We'll make this one easy. Just leave a single, relevant comment on this post, either something you learned at the Proud To Support Pink site, or your favorite variety of Freschetta pizza, or how you've been touched by cancer. Be sure to leave a way to contact you if you are the winner. This giveaway will end at 10/28/2011, at 10 pm, central time. (Winner will have 24 hrs to contact me with their name & address.)
Disclosure: I received a coupon for a free pizza, and 2 pairs of the above mentioned earphones, as a part of the Freschetta Fresh Connection program. No other compensation was provided. All opinions are my own.

Freschetta Pizza is delicious and I love that they are donating money for breast cancer research! I did not know about this, but will stock up the next time I go grocery shopping!:) Lori toosillysisters@cox.net
