My Memories Review & Giveaway

I sort of got into scrapbooking, many years ago, when it reached the peak of its popularity. The idea of doing something with all those treasured pictures, instead of throwing them in a box in the closet really resonated with me.

Things have changed though. Many of our pictures are stored digitally now, for one thing. For another, I no longer have hours and hours to drag out all the supplies, work on a couple of pages, and put all the stuff away. I have kids now. I craft in 15 minute bursts, here and there, when I have a chance.

I've let the kids have most of my old supplies for arts and crafts, and sort of given up on the process.

I was recently contacted by My Memories, a digital scrapbooking company, about reviewing their software, and decided to try it out, in spite of my technophobia.

The My Memories suite retails for $39.99, and is instantly downloadable from the site. The software comes with many preset photo layouts, background patterns, and embellishments. It also allows you to add sound, videos, and gives you the option of either printing your projects, or putting them on a disc to share.

The My Memories store also gives you the opportunity to purchase additional themed packs for a reasonable price. (Sign up for their emails to receive notice about new products, sales, and freebies. You can also check out their blog, follow them on Twitter, or "like" their FB page.)

In the relatively short amount of time that I've had to play around with the software, I've been able to create several neat projects.

Halloween 2010.

Here's a page full of Christmas gift tags, with the kids' pictures on them. Adorable, and perfect for the little gifts that the kids make for their favorite people every year.

Personalized gift tags.
It took me a bit of time to figure the program out. I'm notoriously slow at figuring out anything tech-y, though, so your mileage will probably vary. In the end, I'm very happy with the product. Aside from the obvious use, (making scrapbook pages,) the software can be used to create calendars, greeting cards, gift tags, party invitations, and more. Just think of all the neat applications for the upcoming holiday season...

If you'd like to purchase a copy of the software, you can use code STMMMS29437 to receive $10 off the purchase price. (The software will also come with a $10 coupon towards the My Memories store.)

My Memories has also offered to host a giveaway here. For your entry, go check out the My Memories store, and leave me a comment telling me your favorite digital scrapbooking kit. Easy, right? Don't forget to leave a way to contact you, if you are the winner.

This giveaway will end at 10:100 pm, Central, on 10/25/11.

Disclosure: I was provided with a free copy of the software in order to facilitate this review, as well as the opportunity to host a giveaway. All opinions are my own, and I was under no obligation to provide a favorable review. Additionally, the coupon code referenced above is an affiliate link, for which I would receive a commission.
