Sew and Tell

C has had a couple of days off, and I've finally gotten to do some sewing. First I used the tutorial at http://www.graceviolet.com/2009/03/skirt-pattern.html to make this little skirt for V. I didn't have any of the bias binding she called for, so I just made the skirt a bit longer, and made the casing out of the main portion of the skirt. It fits her now, and she wears about a size 18 mo.

I also made 3 skirts from the tutorial here : http://adayinthelifeofthechristensons.blogspot.com/2008/12/tutorial-bandanna-skirt.html
I was finally able to use up some cool hand dyed bandannas I got from Hobby Lobby years ago.
Incidentally, these worked out to be considerably bigger. I tried them on my son (hehehe), who wears a 4T, and they fit him fine. They'd probably also fit down to about a 2T.

Finally, I cut up a fleece baby blanket, and made a pair of sleep shorts for L. I basically followed the tutorial at Rookie Moms for pants out of a T shirt. These look a little wonky in the pic, but they actually aren't.

Yay for quick, easy tutorials.
