Things I like Thursday (Part 2, Crafting for Charity)

Part of why I've been posting less is that I've been crafting more. I've got a ton of stuff on my mental to do list for Christmas this year. (Only six more crafting months, folks...)
I'm also gearing up to contribute to 2 online Charity projects, and I'd like to share them in this Things I like Thursday post, because ultimately, there's nothing I like more than sharing some love with babies and children.
First off, if you haven't already heard, Craft Hope is asking for submissions for project three, (hats, booties, and blankies,) for babies in India. I'm mentally committing myself to at least 10 baby hats, which is drop in the bucket, but probably all I'll be able to manage, given the way things have been going around here. If you can sew, knit, or crochet, I urge you to contribute to this project as well. Pretty please?

I also found the Amazima Doll project, which I'm going to try to contribute to as well. I cannot embroider, so I'm not sure how I'm going to do the dolls faces, but I'm going to try. They're looking for around 350 dolls by October, and I'm hoping to pitch in a couple.

Check them out, and think about sharing your skills for a good cause.

  1. Another method is to go to Hobby Lobby or another craft store and get an iron on face. Those are great.
Or you could draw it on with a fabric marker. There's a wide variety of types. That's what I did for my boys superhero blankets.

  3. Hi! I'm the person organizing the Amazima project. If you look in the gallery you'll see that faces are optional! :) Some people are doing faces but many many more are not. So no worries! Thanks so much for spreading the word on this project!!! It looks like we'll meet our goal and then some, but it also looks like the group now has an extra 50 kids already so they're growing just as quickly as the sign-up list! :-D
