Dayspring Cards Review and $35 Giveaway

I live about an hour from Bonny. She's a great friend, the kind who brings you food after you have a baby, who never forgets your birthday, who offers help before you even ask for it. She's older than me, has been through the hectic stage of life I'm going through, and lived to tell about it. Bonny's been a huge blessing  in my life, and has taught me a lot about what what it means to really be a friend.

In a word, she's encouraging

Since moving away from her several years ago, we don't get together as often as we once did. She has some health problems which keep her close to home most of the time, and I don't often venture very far out with the kids. We see each other a few times a year, and otherwise stay in touch through the occasional phone call, and cards, lots of cards.

I've often teased Bonny about sending a card for every possible occasion, but the truth is, it's wonderful. They always arrive at just the right time, on a day when I'm feeling discouraged, forgotten, or lonely. It's funny how a piece of paper can truly brighten your day, but they can. Encouragement is a powerful thing.

Bonny has inspired me to start sending more cards to everyone in my life. Don't we all like to be reminded that we're loved and that someone is thinking of us? I now make it a point to keep some on hand, to send to friends, family, and folks at church whenever I think they might need a little extra love.

Dayspring recently sent me the Hope and Encouragement Card Pack to review, and I was truly impressed.

First of all, the art was beautiful. Some of the designs incorporated textured paper, and others looked nearly hand painted. They were frameable.

The messages were sweet. There are 10 cards in the pack, and as I read through them,  I was mentally telling myself "this one would be perfect for so and so," and  "I'll send this one to her."  Each card includes a Bible verse that relates to the theme (encouragement, friendship, or praying for you.)

I sent several of mine out a few days ago.

The 10 card set retails for $28, which is a  fantastic buy at $2.80 a card.

  3. I like to send encouraging notes, although I'm not very good at keeping up with it. A side note: you commented on my blog that I won the WITB giveaway. I sent you my mailing address, but haven't heard from you. I was wondering if maybe my email was delivered to the junk folder. Just curious. :)

  13. I agree -- encouragement is a powerful thing. It's my passion although I call it sheltering. I love using photos to encourage others. I make cards from a special memory, through Walmart you can make magnets, a notebook, postcards and many more inexpensive gifts. The neat thing is you can do it from home and it is sent right to your door.

  14. Definitely sending cards, usually homemade if I have the time or just picking up a small "thinking of you" gift like a bookmark, something that sums up our relationship and shows how much they mean to me.

  18. When I want to encourage someone I like to give them a hand written card. I also like to call and leave a message for them when I know I'll get their voice mail so I can leave a scripture or prayer for them to listen to over and over as they need to.
