Cereal and comic books are really big at my house right now.
(Actually, cereal always is. Six year L has just recently started reading comic books though. It's opened up a whole new world for him.)
Some of our favorite Big G, (General Mills) cereals have partnered with DC Comics to bring us the best of both worlds. Right now, in specially marked boxes, you'll find one of four DC Super Hero comic books, featuring members of the Justice League. (You'll also find a fun cut out super hero mask on the back of the box.)
Remember how fun it was to find the surprise in the cereal box when you were a kid?
I love the idea of including a book in the cereal box to promote literacy. It blows me away to read statistics about how many children are growing up in homes with few or no books. Additionally, comic books appeal to a wide variety of ages and reading levels, so I think this is a really neat partnership. To find out more about participating cereals and the comics, check out the Big G Cereal Heroes website.
We were sent some cereal, a set of comic books, and an action figure. My son was excited about the comic books, and decided that Lucky Charms were his new favorite cereal. (We're usually a Honey Nut Cheerios or Cinnamon Toast Crunch family. He hadn't tried Lucky Charms before.)
My Blog Spark has offered to host a giveaway here. One random commenter will win a prize pack which includes the following items:
For your first, mandatory entry, leave a comment telling me what your super power would be, if you got to pick one. I think I'd choose to be super energetic, even on days when I barely get any sleep. One can wish, right?
For separate, optional entries, you may tweet/blog/or FB about the giveaway, up to once per day. (Please leave a comment for each.)
Don't forget to leave a way to reach you if you are the winner. This giveaway will end on 11/26/11, at 10 pm Central time.

I would choose the ability to fly because it would be fun. But being super-fast would be helpful when cleaning the house. :)
