My kids' favorite vegetables are potatoes, preferably in the form of french fries. (Groan.) Both kiddos have some sensory issues, and as time goes on, their list of approved foods seems to get smaller and smaller. (If I'm honest, I'm not getting enough fruits and vegetables in every day either.)
I've recently decided enough is enough. We're going to start introducing some new foods around here. (I'm sort of an everything in moderation sort of person. I don't believe there's anything inherently wrong with fries, or other treats, you just can't live off of them exclusively.)
She didn't love eating "baby trees," but she tried it. A for effort. |
When My Blog Spark contacted me about trying Green Giant Valley Fresh Steamers with pasta and vegetables, I said yes. They meet several of our important criteria: they're quick, they include pasta and cheese, (everyone's favorite combo,) and yes, they include some veggies.
We tried the Pasta and Vegetables with Alfredo sauce. Hubs and I liked it. It was ready in just a couple of minutes, and tasty. V enjoyed the pasta, but declined to eat the "baby trees," and picked them out. We'll be buying them again.

I add corn to tacos...though it's a veggie we already eat, it's a bit more for our bellies.

I grill them. It's better than serving a raw salad, which they hate
