I was actually inspired by a blog post I recently ran across to create this little set for V, and although I thought I bookmarked it, I can't find it now. (A search for wooden memory game turned up tons of matches, but not the correct one.)
Anyway, this is one of those so-easy-but-I never-would-have-thought-of-it projects. I basically just stamped sets of two matching images onto these little wooden tiles. That's it. It's to be played like a traditional memory game.
I stuck with a yummy baked goods theme, since V has unfortunately inherited my sweet tooth. I still need to sew up a little bag for it.
Cute, huh? This would make a quick and cost effective party favor or assembly line Christmas gift.

Love the idea, simple yet it looks so advanced!
ReplyDeleteThis is ingenious. I love playing this game on the computer :)

Very cute idea! You won a coupon for free ice cream from my giveaway, email me at jab300 at mchsi dot com with your details and I will get it out to you. Thanks! Julie
ReplyDeleteI love this idea. Memory game cards get destroyed in my house from being bent or stepped on. These would definatly stand up to a destructive toddler. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteDid you use a 5 gallon paint stick? The pieces look about that size. I did a project with paint sticks where I had to cut off the ends with the handle and didn't know what to do with them. This will work I think.
ReplyDeleteI actually didn't use a paint stick, although that sounds like a workable idea. I picked up the little wooden tiles from the craft department of Tuesday Morning, I think...
