Today is our first official day of kindergarten. I'm a little surprised that it feels like such a big deal. After all, we've known we were going to homeschool since before L was born, and in a casual sort of way, we've been educating him since birth.
For his part, L's excited to get started again, but otherwise, it's just another day to him.
I'm a product of the public school system though, and the first day of kindergarten was a huge deal to me. I still remember deliberating over what to wear. (The winning outfit was a burnt orange jumper, in case you're wondering. Gotta love the 80's.)
We'll be starting off with a Space theme for the month of August. I anticipate a few bumps in the road, as we all adjust to a new routine and road test a few curriculum choices to see if they're going to work for us.
I'm excited though. The beginning of a new year always feels so full of possibilities.
In addition to posting about the usual stuff around here, I'm planning on checking back in every Friday with a week in review type post.
